Hungry for God: Out of Our Mind

“And when His family heard it, they went out to seize Him, for they were saying, ‘He is out of His mind.’”—Mark 3:21.

There are times, as we walk by faith with the King, when others will think we are out of our mind. People will hear our words and see our actions and note that they are completely different from the rest of the world. We operate by a different standard of living—God’s Word. We do not live any longer for self and our selfish desires, but we begin learning what it means to die to self and live for the Savior. Others will see us as foolish, ancient, backward, oppressed, uneducated, and worst of all—intolerant. But “let God be true though every one were a liar”—Romans 3:4.

Stand firm in faith, let God be your defender, and be prepared for God to work. There may be those who think you are out of your mind, just like Jesus’ family did, but if we continue to walk and stand with Him, then God will transform the hearts and minds of our family, just like it happened in Jesus’ family. His brother, James, became one of the pillars of the church after His resurrection (cf. Galatians 2:9)! God is in the business of transforming lives, and as we walk and stand with Him, He will glorify Himself, and we will receive the joy through it. Amen.
