Walking with the Wise #461: Unto the Lord
“Trustworthy messengers refresh like snow in summer.
They revive the spirit of their employer.”
—Proverbs 25:13 (NLT)
—Proverbs 25:13 (NLT)
Telling the truth is not only advantageous to us in helping us maintain a clear conscience and a spirit of peace; it also enables us to help others. Being a trustworthy employee is an encouragement to any employer, allowing them to not worry about what’s being said and done, or about being taken advantage of. Joseph was such a man. Wherever he worked, he did his job so well that each of those who employed him didn’t worry about a thing under his care (Genesis 39:6, 23).
Joseph is an example for each one of us to emulate. The quality of our work and the merit of our character can be a drain or a delight, depending upon how it’s done. Our responsibility is to do our work unto the Lord, as the Bible says:
“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ”—Colossians 3:23-24.Do your work faithfully unto the Lord, and then see how He becomes your defender, sustainer, advocate, and champion by magnifying your name as you magnify His. Amen.
This is so true its amazing to read someone as devoted as u i wish i was like that
