Walking with the Wise #448: On Your Side

“Lie not in wait as a wicked man against the dwelling of the righteous;


do no violence to his home;
for the righteous falls seven times and rises again,

but the wicked stumble in times of calamity.”
—Proverbs 24:15-16

When you are on the side of God, you are unstoppable. Or as Paul put it, “If God is for us, who can be against us?”—Romans 8:31. If you are a follower of Christ, then you can be sure that God is on your side. In fact, He becomes your strength (Psalm 28:7), help (Psalm 33:20), deliverer (Psalm 18:2), refuge (Psalm 18:30), rock (Psalm 62:2), fortress (Psalm 31:3), stronghold (Psalm 144:2), shield (Psalm 115:11), salvation (Psalm 62:6),and your very great reward (Genesis 15:1).

God says that if the wicked plots evil against the righteous, the righteous will rebound—why? Because God is on their side! The wicked stumbles during difficult times, and while the righteous stumble, they surely won't stay fallen, but will get up again and again—all because God is on their side!

Stay true to God! If you find yourself being attacked, then know that God is with you! He will never leave you, nor forsake you! Even if you find yourself stumbling and falling, God will lift you up! Run to Him, stay true to Him, and let Him be your defender! Amen.
